Kerstkrans Christmas wreath DIY

De kerst was hier al een beetje voor Sinterklaas begonnen. Ik had, stiekem, namelijk al een kerstkrans gemaakt voor op de voordeur... (ik hoorde dat er wetsvoorstellen waren om géén kerstversieringen voor 5 december op te hangen ;) )
Het is echt super eenvoudig om zelf te maken!

Wat heb je nodig:

- Een krans (ik gebruikte er 1 van kunststof wilgentakken)
- Heel veel plastic kerstballen (Ik kocht deze bij Zeeman en Kruidvat voor ongeveer € 5,- totaal)
- Een lijmpistool

Tja... Lijm alle ballen op de krans :) Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Onze kerst wordt zeer kleurrijk! (er staan nog wat DIY's op stapel) Wat wordt jouw kerst?

- A gluegun

How to make it?

Well ehm... Glue all the balls on the wreath :) Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

DIY Mobiel voor de babykamer / DIY Mobile for the nursery

Ik had veel restjes over van de babydeken die ik heb gehaakt (deze). Met die restjes heb ik deze mobiel gemaakt voor boven het wigje in de babykamer. Zo maak je 'm:

Nodig:

• Restjes wol
• 1 of twee maten pompon makers
• Een grote witte ring 35 cm (deze heb ik online besteld bij het Hobbyhuis)
• Wit touw / garen
• 1 houten kraal

Hoe:

1. Eerst maakte ik allemaal pompons, met deze handige pompon apparaatjes*. Knip de lange touwtje waarmee je knoopt nog niet af!
2. Daarna heb ik 6 touwtjes geknipt van ongeveer 120 cm
3. Deze knoopte ik aan elkaar en reeg de kraal eraan.
4. De touwtjes knoopte ik allemaal op gelijke afstand aan de ring.
5. Dit knoopte ik aan een gordijnrails (of iets anders hoogs) zodat je makkelijk de pompons eraan kunt gaan bevestigen
6. Knoop de pompons verdeeld aan de mobiel
7. Knip de touwtje wat nog onder uitsteekt af en voila!

* Echt een aanrader! Het scheelt veel tijd en ze zijn niet duur. Ik heb deze gekocht bij een handwerkkraampje op de markt, ze zijn van Clover en kostten toen € 4,- voor 2 apparaatjes. Maar online kun je ze vast ook wel ergens vinden.







I had some scraps left from the baby blanket I crocheted (this one). With those scraps I made this mobile for the nursery. This is how make it:

You need: 

• scraps of wool 
• One or two sizes pompom makers 
• A large white ring 35 cm (i ordered it online at a craftwebsite) 
• White rope / yarn 
• 1 wooden bead 

How to: 

1. First I made all the pompoms, with these handy pompon makers *. Don’t cut the long string yet. 
2. Then I cut six strings, ± 120 cm each.
3. I tied them together put the wooden bead on it. 
4. I knotted all the strings, at equal distance, to the ring. 
5. I hanged this to a curtain rail(or anything else which is high) so you can easily add the pompons.
6. Tie the pompons to the mobile. 
7. Cut the ropes under the last pompon, and voila! 

* I recommend these! It saves a lot of time and they are not expensive. I bought this at a craft stall at the market, they are from Clover and then costed € 4, - for 2 devices. You’ll probably find them online too.

Advent: Christmas countdown

Het is 1 december vandaag, de start van de advent. Voor Huub heb ik zelf een advent kalender gemaakt. Ik heb een soort van rekje gemaakt met ronde latjes en lint. 
Voor elke dag is er een 'kadootje' waar diverse dingen in zitten. In de meeste zit een chocolaatje, een klein kaarsje of een 'candy cane'. Er zitten ook wat kleine knutselprojectjes in zoals: kerstkaarten maken en kerstkoekjes bakken. Ook zit er in 1 pakje een waardebon voor een kerstboom.
Op Instagram zal ik proberen elke dag een foto te posten van het 'uitpak-moment'. (ik ben: studio ann)

Today it's December 1st, the start of the advent. I made an advent calendar for Huub myself.
I've made some sort of rack of round battens and ribbon. There's a present on the rack for every day.
In most presents there's a piece of chocolate, a candy cane or a small candle. There are some craft projects in there too, like making christmas cards and baking christmas cookies. There's also a voucher for a christmas tree in one.

Chestnuts

De afgelopen tijd hebben we wat kastanjes geraapt, Huub en ik. Maarja, wat doe je dan allemaal met die kastanjes? Huub gooit ze graag achter de kast en onder de bank (daar waar je net niet bij kan).
Ik had een ander ideetje! Dit heb ik al jaren in m'n hoofd om te doen en nu met Huub erbij, vond ik het wel geoorloofd om zo'n knutselwerkje te maken. Huub heeft het geprobeerd maar was er nog iets te klein voor.
Ik heb spinnenwebben gemaakt om voor de ramen te hangen. Heel simpel: je steekt er een stuk of 6 cocktailprikkers in en kiest wat leuke kleurtjes wol uit en wikkelen maar.
Om het af te maken heb ik een slinger van (kastanje) bladeren gemaakt.

Huubs poging rechts / Huub's try on the right

Huub and I have been searching for chestnuts lately. But, what to do with all of those chestnuts?
Huub likes to throw them behind the closet and under the couch (just where you can't reach them)
I had a different idea! I wanted to do this for years, but now with Huub around, I thought it was time to do this. I thought Huub could make one too, but he tried, but he's a little too young for it.
I've made spiderwebs with it, to hang in front on the window. It's very simple: you put 5 or 6 cocktail pins in the chestnut, choose some fun colors of wool and wrap.
To finish it, I made a garland with (chestnut) leaves.
